The Onion: Media Advertising

At one time or another everybody has gotten sucked into the grasp of media advertising. Whether it was an infomercial about a Snuggie or a prize in the bottom of a cereal box. Everyone at some point whether they know it or not has been persuaded by advertising. In the mock press release The Onion, the author uses humor, over exaggeration, and jargon to show the effects that marketing has on consumers.
The author uses humor to show the outrageous things marketing directors will say to get consumers to buy their products. In the last paragraph the author states, " Why should I pay thousands of dollars to have my spine realigned with physical therapy when I can pay $20 for insoles clearly endorsed by an intelligent-looking man in a white lab
