As mentioned it is important that nurses address other factors affecting the patient, therefore if the nurse is able to identify stressors they can improve the environment for the patient and reduce possible stressors or response to stressors (Butts & Rich, 2018). I think this perspective on health allows more allowance for recovery in illness instead of focusing where the patient is and where they should be. The Neuman model really allowed me to see how the nursing metaparadigm concepts were interrelated and interdependent rather than single independent concepts (Neuman & Fawcett, 2011).
