As we know the automobile usage has increased all over the world especially in the last decades and the companies are aware of the increasing environmental issues of their product and processes they are facing. The big manufacturers know about the need of having improved environmental performance in their operations and have set environment programs to tackle with these issues. These programs have a wide scope and also cover some requirements for the suppliers.
According to Global competition we have several brands. In the United States there are three big companies (Ford, Chrysler and General Motors) which contend with other foreign companies, mainly with Japan brands like: Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, Mazda, Isuzu, Subaru. In second

According to environment issues the automobiles have develop from steam powered at the beginning to electric cars today.
The benefits of electric cars is widely known, that is, no gas emission but the low speed got make them no too practical, thus the use are increasing at a very slow rate, besides the prices are still moderate high. Also there are hybrid cars which overcome the barrier because of low speed. This kind of car uses two different power sources to move the car which combine an internal combustion motor and electric motors. The hybrid technology has spread all over the word and different kinds of vehicles are made of such us busses, ships and military vehicles. Regarding to customer exigency new technology has been developed and now we can see within a car, front and rear view cameras, internet connection, air bags, seat warmers, and so on.

The energy used emit big amount of gases like CO2 and NOX which foster the acid rain.
 Painting/coating/plating. High quantity of pollutant and toxic gases emitted has forced to manufacturers change from organic- based to water- based paints.
