Electric Cars Are electric cars better than gas cars? There are over one million electric cars. Electric cars have an interesting and are very beneficial. There are many difference in between the popular gas car and electric cars. The electric car became practical until 1870s or later. The first car was made in 1884. A Scottish inventor, Robert Anderson, came up with the idea of an electric car. An American, Thomas Davenport, is credited with building the first electric car.
