The Indian fast-food industry is of considerable size, with a latent demand of around US $ 12 billion as of 2009 (Economic Intelligence Unit). The industry is also projected to grow very rapidly almost doubling in a span of ten years. While in 2004 the latent demand was US $9 billion, the demand in 2014 is projected at around US $16 billion (Economic Intelligence Unit). There are several players in the industry. Few of them are multinational brands like Pizza Hut, McDonalds, KFC, Domino‟s Pizza, Coffee Day and Barista while others are Indian brands like Nirulas, Indian Bread and Pizza corner (Jauhari, 2003). The fast food industry entered Goa recently and has been growing steadily ever since.

The chain offers pizzas as its primary product along with other secondary offerings like breads, pastas etc. The first Domino 's Pizza in Goa opened in Panaji in June 2011. Since then 9 more outlets have opened in the state at Baga, Calangute, Vagator, Vasco Da Gama, Dabolim, Miramar, Anjua, Margao and Varca. All the dimensions of Mcdonaldization apply equally well to each dominos outlet. All of the outlets are efficient and uniform in their supply of products. Every employee at Domino 's pizza is trained by the corporation before beginning active work so that the taste of pizza 's they produce does not differ from what is being offered at other Domino 's outlets all over the …show more content…
Stores such as Shanghai Post, Beans and Brews, Tikka Express, Club Chowpati in Caculo Mall Panaji have been Mcdonalized to a good extent. These stores have a quick, efficient make and deliver system which has very little human interference.
Club Chowpati is an outlet offering various types of chaats. There are just two workers managing the store. The ingredients of these chaats like sauces, fillings etc are prepared in the morning and stored. At the time of order the worker just assembles the ingredients and serves to the customer in paper utensils. This western method of preparing food is efficient and time saving thereby increasing revenues and reducing human labour. The store shows healthy sales which have been rising, although slowly, every month.
Tikka Express has a process of making kathee rolls very similar to Club Chowpati. Beans and Brews is a store offering various types of coffees and teas. Every tea/coffee is machine prepared in under a minute.These stores have been Mcdonalized by their western counter-parts.
