With an impending shortage for both primary care providers and oncologists, the need for advanced nurse practitioners is becoming more noticeable. It is anticipated that demand for oncology visits will “increase 48% by 2020” (Moote, Nelson, Velkamp ,Campbell, 2012). Estimations reveal “that only…2% of NPs currently practice within oncology” (Moote, Nelson, Velkamp ,Campbell, 2012).
