Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are the main solution to a much needed change in our healthcare system. I always believed that APRNs could provide effective medical care almost similar to physician at lower healthcare cost which is essential to the healthcare dilemma. After reading the excessive information provided by this course, I have new perception of why APRNs could be the key to change in our healthcare system. This perception is guided by the differences between an APRN and physician in the practice they utilize to provide healthcare. Physicians are trained in medical practice, focus of diagnosis and treatment of disease. The training of APRN involves the clinical practice with a holistic approach to practicing medicine.
