One positive influence is the internet; it has a positive influence on learning by allowing people to be able to search information quickly and allowing them to increase their knowledge. Although it can also be a negative influence because people may find it distractive and find themselves on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter rather than doing homework or coursework. Being organised is very important in personal learning and development as it shows how easy it is to make mistakes and why they should be kept to a minimum as this could be fatal, an example of this is a nurse in a busy ward delivery patients with their daily medication, if the nurse is disorganised, this increases the possibility of that nurse making a mistake with medication with the impact being fatal (giving a patient the wrong medication). Personal learning and development in health and social care is very important as what they learn does have either a positive or negative effect for anyone working alongside that care worker.
As an individual I have learnt a lot of my current skills and knowledge from an apprenticeship that I carried out in a nursery. This could benefit people in my class because some on my experience I can link in with health and social care and give advice.
As a learner, I believe that my knowledge and skills can benefit others around me. All the skills that I have learnt and developed can help others when I go in to the professional world. For example the communication skills that I obtained in unit 1 will enable me to communicate with a patient in a complicated situation.
