Kimberlee did not have her seat belt on, which led to her having four broken vertebrae in her neck and two in her back. She had to wear a neck and back brace for three months. While the car flipped, she was tossed around and could not do anything about it. I had my seat belt on. I came out with only a bruise on my chest from my seat belt. If I would not have had my seatbelt on I might have been able to walk out of that car accident alive. People take seat belts for granted; they do not think it will matter if they have one on or not. After the accident I am sure there is a big difference in outcomes if you have a seat bet on or not. It is a better option to always have your seat belt on. Kimberlee was rushed to Enterprise Medical Center from the scene of the accident. Later that morning she was transferred to Southeast Medical Center in Dothan. I give myself a lot of grief for what I took away from Kimberlee during the three months she was down. She could have been out enjoying herself but she had to wait to be released from her doctor. Kimberlee was not allowed to work during the time she was down. I can not give her the time she lost, the only thing I could do was be there for her. My best friend could have died because of my wreck less driving. I have lost a few friends due to car accidents and it is impossibly miserable to live with. The emotional stress you have to deal with because of a loss of a friend is hard to get over. I could not live with myself if I would have killed her. I would have to think about what could have been but that was not the case. When we see each other now, things are different; we do not take the little things for granted. We both know that no one is promised tomorrow; we are always honest with each other and do not leave without saying goodbye and that we love each other.
