Ethics means doing the right action, based off virtue ethics. To support this definition the novella excerpt “Lather And Nothing Else”, the article “Who Will Save The Savior Siblings”, and the song “Independence Day” all demonstrate virtuous ethics. Initially, killing is wrong because virtuously killing is not temperament. Hernando Tellez persuades revolutionists to not go against his or her morals in the novella excerpt “Lather and Nothing Else,”. The barber in this excerpt decides not to kill because it would go against what he believed in. Tellez has the barber say “I do not want to stain my hands with blood”(4). The barber does not want to kill because he knows it is wrong even if the man may deserve it. By not killing the man the barber is following his morals. By following ethics things may happen that you don't want to happen but you can know that you did the right thing. Furthermore, parents should not use another child to save their other child because virtually the parents are not being temperament. The song “Independence Day” by Gretchen Peters, is informing middle aged Americans that relationship abuse is still prominent in today's age. This song is about a girl whose father is abusive to her mother so the mother burns the house down with the mother and father inside the house so the father can never abuse the girl. In the song the young girl says “they say he was a dangerous man.” The mother knew the father would eventually try and hurt the daughter so she had to stop him once and for all. By killing the husband the mother keeps her daughter safe for the rest of her life making the girl’s life better in the long run.
