Moral advertising is important to understand, not only to understand the right and wrong of business ethics of advertising, but to ensure that the public is not misinformed of the advertised product or service. For this unique ethical issue, the ethical challenge and dilemma of advertising will be analyzed. Also the traditional theories will be suggested to discover the potential resolution of the dilemma of moral advertising. The purpose of this paper will be to explain the ethical dilemma and resolution for the practice of advertising throughout businesses in the United States. The challenge that arises when advertising occurs with the aspects of honest advertising, advertising for children, promoting harmful products, and tactics used by the promoter. This issue must not be ignored, and coaching them to understand the company’s resolution theory the theories will avoid the concern for the future. The people involved in the resolve must understand that respect and integrity is important for this theory to work.
The issue with the Utilitarianism theory is that someone will have a different judgement on wrong and right instead of the ideal ethical performance.
Step 6: Decide on what appears to be the best course of action- In this final step, the resolution will take form. The method will be to apply two ethical theories that have the greatest foreseeable impact on eliminating the ethical concern of the business. The use of the six steps will ultimately guide supervisors of the organization to proceed with the process of resolving the moral issue of advertising to the general public.
