Drinking alcohol is like taking a drug. It is a form of drug abuse, or drug addiction. This is a worldwide problem that many people are involved in. Even drinking a small amount may lead to some bad short and long term effects. Most people think moderate drinking is safe and don’t understand how it affects their health. But we can contribute to decrease alcohol consumption. The government should increase the taxes of alcohol beverages. This will help so less people buys alcohol because it will cost more. Also college and schools should give more information and have more presentation on why alcohol is bad. Lastly parents, friends or even you can have an influence in someone that has an alcohol problem/addiction. The companies should put some type of advertisement in alcohol beverages to warn people of what drinking alcohol causes.

Alcohol not only affects your liver it also affects other parts of your system such as the nervous system. Alcohol affects the nervous system by slowing the body 's functions. The effects that alcohol has on the body depends on the age, body weight, and the amount a person drinks. The effects range from poor judgement to memory loss, slurred speech and slow reflexes to unconsciousness or even death.
