The day i almost died From then on I will never forget the day i almost died in a car crash. This event occurred in 2016 one day in the afternoon, I was also 12 years old at the time. I was also in fact more fragile and scared in those times. I also learned to always be thankful for being able to go through bad life events from being in one myself. Up until that day I woke up in the morning to hear my mom yelling at me, “Get your clothes on I don’t have time to wait!” yelled my mom. My mom had her clothes on already, waiting for me to get dressed. “Alright, i will.” I said with grunts and groans as i got up from my bed and got dressed. I put on some casual clothing and some regular gym shoes as I combed my hair putting it into a regular pony tail as I was trying to find my blue headband. I could hear my mom yelling at me again. “Come on, it shouldn’t take you this long to get dressed!” My mom said in a irritated tone of voice. My mom was sitting on a chair in the living room holding her keys. I could hear the keys shake like jingle bells as i walked to the living room. I just sat there as they talked and then my mom had to lay on a roller bed and I could see her get in the ambulance as i walked in the passenger’s seat and closed the door. My mom was talking to a few people and I was there besides her in the hospital bed. In the end I was so thankful we were all ok. Yeah, my mom was having neck pain but it was not major. Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

I would say the worst part was having to call my mother to explain to her that I was in a car accident a couple blocks from the house in her car. When she answered she instantly started to yell thinking it was my fault until I told her what happened. My mom then had to find a ride from someone to rush over to the location I was at. She arrived and the first thing she does is look at the car, but wasn’t too upset anymore because the bumper was already cracked from another accident. My mother walked up to the girl’s car to see the damage but didn’t have nothing wrong with it.…

Small Moment Narrative By: Simona McDonald It had been a grey, gloomy September day from the moment the sun chose to rise. A faint wind flowed through our hair while a slight drizzle sprinkled down upon us. The lake’s chilly, dark green water came crashing down onto the beige concrete in heavy waves as we strolled along beside the water, taking in the breath-taking scenery. There had been a faint mist acting as a blanket covering the city of Chicago.…

Disbelieve and fear shook my mind as I lie on my back, sitting on top of concrete sandwiched in between the hot metal hood of a car, as the weight pressed down against me it didn’t hurt, my body was too numb to feel anything. All I could feel was a car pushing me further into the ground pushing my lungs down and shutting air out of it. It felt too surreal I kept blinking as if I thought I’d wake up from this mess. I could see sirens and people gathering around me watching in disbelieve, I kept fading in and out of conscience I felt like I was close to death.…
