I woke to the sound of my alarm clock going off, “Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep.” It was 7:00 in the morning; the usual time I get up to go to school, but like usual I slam on the snooze button and sleep for another five minutes. After hitting the snooze button three times I finally got up. Today is the day, our first doubleheader of the season is against Rockford. The coach is starting me at left field and it is my first game ever starting in high school game. I’m a Sophomore at Atwood High School; my family and I moved here during my Freshmen year of high school, so I’m fairly new here.

“Why is That” she asked.

“You’ll be fine, just have confidence and you’ll do great” mom said.

Now I was not what you would call a great student. I didn’t get in trouble all the time, I just never really tried getting good grades. This year so far I have had a ton of missing assignments. Coach has been putting a lot of pressure on me to get my grades up because I’m close to being ineligible. During first hour I couldn’t stop thinking about the game. I was getting nervous for the game. Rockford had both starting pitchers from last year returning, and one of them can throw up to 90

Chances are high that more people have been faced by a trial, not the kind in court, but the kind where they are competing to show prowess in something. If they have succeeded in the trial they have felt accomplished or if you failed you just stay angry for a little bit at first and then you just think what you could of done or done better. Better yet, you failed even though you (thought) you did everything perfect or at least 95% right and you’re just waiting on the verdict like “man, I’ve got this one in the history books 100% and there’s no way I could've failed.”…

I was drowsy and felt a little sluggish; I knew I had to be at softball practice by 7:45 am or I would be riding the bench for the next game. So I jump in my car and speed off like a race car to Maplezone Sports Institute, also known as MSI, which is an indoor practice facility. I arrived at 7:45 and ran through the parking lot to the field.…
