I. Introduction to the career of directing
Steve Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott Joss Whedon and Kathryn Bigelow are not only influential personalities and globally admired celebrities but also celebrated motion picture directors whose works will live through human history. These film directors are proof that a career in film directing is one of the few that present an opportunity for creative minds to influence history and re-write humanity’s basic belief systems through film. A film director is responsible for creatively stringing together all the individual aspects of motion picture production through talent and script selection and overseeing the works of crew and cast.
Film directing as a career can be explained as getting the best film produced by overseeing costume designers, set designers, news anchors, actors, camera operators, broadcast meteorologists, equipment technicians, film editors, reporters, writers, and other staff in collaboration with, and reporting to the film producer.
Eligibility for a career in Film directing has no formal requirements, but a job career path, which has more to offer, demands one to hold at least a bachelor’s degree in acting, writing, communications, journalism or any fine-arts related field.
