My poster is about the novel Taking Flight. This is a true story about Michaela Deprince. She became an orphan in Africa while there was a war going on, after both of her parents died. She was later adopted by an American family and became a professional ballerina. Symbols, quotes, and actors are important for creating a movie poster in order to communicate and show the readers what the story is about. My movie is for people who are dancers or like to watch dancers. I think anyone that likes to see people succeed will also enjoy this movie. I think this would be a good movie for people that are young or old to watch. One of the most important details is the casting. These are the actors that will bring the movie to life. The symbols I chose were a heart, pointe shoes, and an Africa flag. The heart symbolizes all the love that Michaela showed to all of her teachers, friends, and family. When Michaela was little, she found a magazine that had a picture of a ballerina with pointe shoes on; after she saw the picture, she wanted to become a ballerina. Michaela was born in Africa and grew up there until her parents died and she was moved to an orphanage who found her a family in America. Quotes can also be an important part of a movie poster.” To thine own self be true.” (pg.204) This quote is Michaela’s favorite because it reminded her to not let anything get in the way of your dreams and always doing your best. She related this quote to her ballet.” I loved leaping high and far. It gave me the sensation of taking flight!” (pg.171) This quote is important because it goes along with the title, Taking Flight, this is also how she felt when she was dancing. Important things for creating a movie poster include symbols, quotes, and actors that help communicate to the audience what the movie is about. The quality of the movie depends on the actors. The symbols show what the audience might see in the movie. Quotes give additional information about the movie. Michaela is young and very talented and will continue to have a bright future. My project was to create a poster, advertising the school play “The Laramie Project”. This poster was supposed to represent the different aspects of the play. Upon speaking with the play director, Ms. Kleinberg, I decided to take a key place from the play and present it on paper in different mediums. This would intrigue people to come see the play, to learn of its significance. The poster was created on separate pieces of paper and would be scanned and put into a computer system to be layered in a photo editing app and sent to be printed.…

Process Paper For the 60’s coached project, I didn't have an exact idea of what Michael and I wanted to do. At first, we were gonna do the Selma march but we both felt as if we wouldn't finish in time. Michael wanted to decorate the lobby and have like a church scene and give speeches but I felt uncomfortable because I have stage fright with certain parts like leading the crowd like, etc. So we had trouble sticking to an idea but two weeks before the project is do, I came up with the idea of Disney because I didn't wanna do a sad project and also because I was inspired by this YouTube channel called Buzzfeed which had a video of different Disney princesses but historically accurate like Snow White came out in 1937 and it represented mid…

Films are products of their time and evolve as American culture evolves. As such, directorial use of existing technology, and the cultural desire for improved movie-making have led to the development of the motion picture industry. “To most people, a movie is popular entertainment, a product to be produced and marketed by a large commercial studio. Regardless of the subject matter, this movie is pretty to look at – every image is well polished by an army of skilled artists and technicians” (Barsam & Monahan, 2016, p.3).…

Summary by Farrukh Shadzad MBA 2 – Evening Program I, before reading this book saw the movie, which motivated me to read the book as well. The name of this book is “The Pursuit of HappYness” written by Chris Garden. The two desires I had when beginning this book were: 1. That it would for the most part be the same story as told in the motion picture with a couple changes that were made for realistic impact - (like no Rubik's 3D square, no night spent in the tram restroom, and no appearing for the meeting shirtless and secured in paint, and so on... 2. That I would not care for Chris Gardner.…
