My director is Spike Lee. I choose Spike Lee because he is a good and well known movie director. His films always have action in them and keep you interested the whole movie. The most recent movies I watched by Spike Lee are “He Got Game” and “Crooklyn.” The movie Crooklyn came out in 1994. It was a good movie about the ups and downs that families have to go through sometimes but at the end the family overcomes the problems. Another Spike Lee movie I really liked was “He Got Game” because its about a basketball player trying to make it big in the world of basketball. I can relate to both of these movies in a lot of ways because i go through the same problems in each movie. It's like Spike Lee been through alot of hard times just like me and my past experiences.

Spike Lee has a lot of different pre and post classical Hollywood cinema techniques that he uses. He has a new way of thinking and all of his movies stand out because of his brilliant way of thinking. Spike Lee grew up watching early Hollywood techniques like synchronized sound, this makes him very unique because he uses different types of angles such as eye level camera angles, a lot of close up shots, and seamless cuts throughout all of his films. Spike Lee uses cities with a large amount of African American youth because he likes to show that African Americans males are misunderstood and targeted most of the time. This is happening often and recently because corrupt, often white, police officers with authority over people take advantage of they power and use it in negative ways.This is just some of the techniques Spike Lee uses to reach out to many of his viewers worldwide and captivate all different people of different races
