This work had multiple editors, but of which the must worthy of mentioning was R. Scott Nash because he was the project editor.…

These first five books in the first series layout the history that Livius was writing about in Rome’s earliest inception and during his lifetime. Unfortunately, there was a fire that destroyed much of Rome’s recorded history which Livius records in his sixth book. Much of Rome’s literature, legends, and myths were borrowed heavily from the Greeks who had a heavy influence on Roman culture. Titus Livius is attempting to portray the first five books in an accurate historical setting that future historians and…
Christianity and Judaism was a big deal in Roman and Greek culture during the period of the New Testament. Religion seemed to be the center of many conflicts and separation between civilizations during this time. The birth of Jesus brought in a lot of controversies within Hellenistic cultures and therefore we see many influences of the new covenant in several of the sculptures and art work created by Greco-Roman artists. Going to the Getty Villa, I was able to find many connections between the collection of Greco-Roman antiquities—including the sculptures and even the general atmosphere of the museum—and the historicity of the New Testament. Driving into the Getty Villa It is hard not to note the stone pavement which makes for a bumpy ride.…
The wealthy Roman’s life was not that much different from yours. They had jobs, they had families, and they had a good family. The rich Romans had a wonderful life because they had slaves to do all of their tasks for them, they had plenty of food, and they had great families. The family and slaves would start their day by wishing the father of the home good morning (Newton).…
Every Bible book including Romans has its specialized purposes. The Book of Romans was designed to lay a solid foundation for our Christian faith. If the foundation is built right, then the whole building (the Christian life) can withstand tremendous attacks, such that are coming against the Gospel in today’s world. The Apostle Paul shows how the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ provides a perfect solution for man’s problem, whether he is Jew or Gentile. The Book of Romans reveals God’s great plan to establish His righteousness throughout the earth through the gospel of Christ.…
