The family and slaves would start their day by wishing the father of the home good morning (Newton). A wealthy Roman would wake up to see his slaves already working. One slave would be ready to put his toga on for him (Newton). Then, after he checks that his wife had everything she needed for the day, and his sons were at school, he would start his day. (Newton). To protect the empire from attacks, Emperor Diocletian built forts along the border. He also split up the Roman Empire into four parts, each of them had a ruler (McGraw 2). He made a lot of efforts but he did not succeed. The Romans ignored his rules, and he was not strong enough to enforce them. Diocletian left office in 305 A.D., when he left conflict broke loose (McGraw 2).
Since, the wealthy Romans had a higher social class, they got more job opportunities. For example, some jobs they could have are lawyers, teachers, and engineers, these are the jobs the more educated Romans could have. Ancient Rome’s government was huge. There were many government jobs, such as tax collectors, clerks, or senators (Nelson 3). Another job the wealthy Romans could have was being in the Roman army (Nelson 3). They could also have a job organizing their home (James 20).
They could also have a job as a praetor. Praetors watched the provinces and law courts. Tribunes kept track of the hobbies of the plebeians (McNeil 12). The wealthy Romans were in the highest social class, they were called patricians. Patricians were from Rome’s oldest and richest families (McNeil 13). As you can see, the wealthy had many job
