Vanessa and the children have become disengaged and separated. Tanisha is now seen as the “motherly” figure for Jermaine. She tries to help him with his homework. The early years were difficult, but manageable. As the rules and chores were often changed as the children grew older. Tanisha complied with the rules for the first five years of her placement in Vanessa's home.
