The British musician who penned these words was not writing for a fantastical--out of the world song when he penned these, rather he was speaking his heart out about his love for food and dining. Indeed, fine dining is a high art and the chefs are the true artists. There have been many maestros in the culinary stage. From Michel Guérard to Paul Bocuse to Jiro Ono. Here’s a list of world’s most justifiably revered chefs of today. Though Paul Bocuse has retired few years back, the list can not be complete without his name.

His contribution to the creation of innovative methods for preparing Sushi is unparalleled. He owns the Sukiyabashi Jiro restaurant in Japan, which is a three-Michelin-starred restaurant.

Massimo Bottura is an Italian chef, who is the head chef of the restaurant Osteria Francescana which he started in the year 1995. Massimo Bottura also spent a summer, working at El Bulli with Ferran Adrià which he says inspired him to push the boundaries of cuisines he created. His restaurant has been ranked as amongst the top three for many consecutive years.

Joan Roca i Fontané is a Spanish chef whose restaurant El Celler de Can Roca has been named time and time again as one of the best restaurants in the world and has three Michelin Guide stars. Joan has been hailed as one of the best Spanish chefs and one of the most influential chefs in the world. Joan Roca i Fontané defines the word avant-garde in Spanish culinary.

Alain Ducasse is one of the greatest chefs in the entire world. He studied under Roger Vergé, Michel Guérard, and Gaston Lenôtre, who are not only considered the greatest chefs of their time but are also known as the creator of french popular cuisines. Alain Ducasse currently holds 21 Michelin Guide stars, second highest ever in the history! He even served as the head chef of the famous Le Louis XV in Monte Carlo. Alain Ducasse is the owner of numerous famous restaurants and bistros.

Joël Robuchon is a living legend. Words can not define the greatness of this french culinary artist. Yes! Joël Robuchon is well known as the Chef of the Century. The only chef to date, who has amassed a total of 28 Michelin Guide stars, the most by any chef in the entire world! Not only is a genius chef, but like all true artists his greatest contribution to the culinary world is his mentorship. He has mentored and taught likes of Eric Ripert, Michael Caines, and Gordon Ramsay.
