If you are able to express what you intend to express and send the intended message to the employees then you are in good shape. As you can see, the problem with clichés is that they often sound silly or boring. Clichés lose their impact because readers and listeners tend to gloss over them, assuming their common meaning while ignoring your specific use of them. For example, few days back there was cricket match (Asian favorite sports) between Pakistan and Bangladesh and Bangladesh won the match with Pakistan.
