It makes up different ways we engage and interact with communication. Having to deal with children in a variety of situations can be difficult. You need to be aware of this and adapt your communications skills to it. You need to be aware that a child needs to be focused when interacting. To ensure this always come down to their levels and apply warm eye contact. Deal with distraction to prevent interruptions occurring so the communication can flow. An example could be when talking to a pupil in a playground. It can be distracting on both parts Get involved with what they are doing e.g. throwing a ball. With an Autistic child communication can be difficult as they rely on there own inner stimulation to communicate with themselves as well as no usable speech. They isolate themselves, as they cannot communicate in way that others do. You need to be ware of this and adapt your communication to it to make the child feel accepted and valued. You can communicate to them using intensive interaction. This is a good communication type. Intensive Interaction is a practical approach to interact with the child who finds it difficult to communicate and being social. It allows you to engage in communication emotionally rather through the typical other types of communication. In summary it is important to always assess the different ways to create good effective communication. You must be able to adapt to these different strategies. Allowing you to have additional training if need be e.g. sign language as well as adjusting to accommodate to the individual. It is important to treat everyone as an individual researching their needs and understanding them all this in time will create an effective
