Jesus is the symbol of the “Lamb of God” signifying He gave His life as a penitence for all who sinned (The Bible Guide). “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29).” The following of which the first four seals are broken, revealing the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, presenting man’s inhumanity to man (Rev 6:1-8).
In addition, the fifth seal is Christian martyrs crying out. The sixth seal is the destruction of the heavens, and of the earth, opened by the Lion of Judah (God), setting the platform for the final judgement. Redeemed from earth, the faithful one hundred, forty-four thousand Christians, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads afterward ascend to Heaven (Rev 7:1-4). John received instructions from the Lord to “Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall take place after these things (Rev 1:19).” Revelation gives us an overview of the end of times, and unique to Revelation is the crucial cause of the persecution given in Scripture; death will reign on earth during persecution of God’s saints. Revelation writes to the church, and the Christians, inspiring us to look toward the Kingdom of Heaven. Equally, informing us of the horrific things to save us from God’s Wrath that descends on the world. Ultimately, the Book of Revelation is a parallel of creation today, yet a sobering reminder of the necessary faithfulness, and obedience to God, despite the sins, and burdens of the world bestowed, to lead you

In the end chapter of Bible, the Revelation talked about the God's right hand that is sealed with seven seals. The lamb of god brings the first four of the seven seals. They are represented by the four horse. The four riders were seen as a symbol of conquest, War, Famine and death. “Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.”…

“The triumph of the kingdom; interpreting Revelation 6-16” by Laurie Guy, a lecturer at Carey Baptist College, property of Paternoster Periodicals highlights: the baffling and contentious nature of the material, considering purpose, considering structure, considering the interpositions and their place in interpretation, considering the content of the B material, the great revelation: the kingdom of God has come, understanding the doom-and-gloom material and abstractness of revelation. The key words also highlighted in this article are: hope; intercalation; judgment; kingdom; purpose; seals; Revelation; structure; trumpets. These words are important to this article because they are the highpoints of Revelation and are meant to be looked at with high importance.…

Chapter one of Practicing Christian Doctrine conveys the aspects and principles of theology and the Christian life. Theology is the study of the things of God. Part of theology is the discipline of learning scripture in order to faithfully speak about and understand God. Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston is a novel about Janie Crawford, an African American girl with white heritage, recalling her life since she left Eatonville, Florida. The book begins with Janie telling her story to her friend Phoebe. Starting at her childhood, Janie explains how she was raised by her grandmother and fills Phoebe in on the most defining events during that time. She explains how she found out she was not white like the other children she was around and recalls her first kiss with Johnnie under a pear tree, which fueled her grandmother’s desire to marry her off. Less interested in whether or not Janie was in love, she was soon married off to a farmer by the name of Logan Killicks in order to ensure she had a good social status and financial security.…

Zombies, nuclear explosions, black holes. There are many theories on how the world will end. As Christians, we have the opportunity to look at prophecy in the Bible to have an idea of what the end will be like. However, the Bible can be confusing or unclear, allowing for multiple interpretations. Considering the end of time, we will look at four different views on what the millennium is and where it is placed on the timeline.…

When interpreting the Bible, it is good to use it as a whole, not to take chunks out of it and use what you think should be used and then leave out the things you don’t think is important. It is good to understand the purpose and audience of the Bible along with taking in consideration on when it was written. It is good to remember that the Bible means what it means, and not what we think it means. A good method of interpreting the Bible is by using the Duvall and Hays Interpretive Journey, which is from Grasping God’s Word. In Duvall and Hay’s Interpretation they use four different Journey’s, and in which I will be using all four of those when trying to interpret the passage I have chosen from the book of Revelation.…

Revelation isn't only words concerning God; it's a living experience of God. God doesn't reveal in the word alone, however, we should always live, as though, God shows himself still. Jesus gave his life so that we may have an experience which provides that personal relationship with God, he is the messenger as well as the message. Jesus has provided the opportunity for everyone to have everlasting life. "The communion, or fellowship, is primarily with Christ, and in Christ, particular churches have fellowship or communion with one another."…

Ragamuffin Gospel Reflection Reading the Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning was a challenge; while I agreed with his thoughts and feeling the style in which it was written I found to be very cumbersome. Then this feeling of being critical of the writing made me feel guilty because the subject and the topic is so important and many individuals give the book very high reviews. I much prefer a local Springfield, Missouri author named Jennifer Rothschild; Jennifer is a nationally renowned author and woman’s conference speaker living in the area with her husband who is on the faculty of Missouri State university. What makes Jennifer special is that while she is blind she shares amazing truths comparing her challenge to our own spiritual blindness…

believe that Orenstein could have been better prepared since in my opinion it seemed that he did not answer the questions. From this seminar I took away two main lessons, one the most important is that you have to be prepared and know every aspect of your research, even if you are using other sources. The second lesson I took away from this presentation is that other scholars may have the same ideas as you and may beat you to publishing a similar research, thus your research has to stand out and be unique in some aspect. The second presentation was an Emerging Scholar Conference which took place on November 11 in the Eldersveld Room, 5670 Haven Hall as well. This presentation was presented by Elijah Cole Stanley, titled “Climate Concern:…

The book I am reading for this module is “Their eyes were watching god.” The book begins where Janie has already grown old. I am currently on the second chapter. Some challenges that I think characters in this story might face are immigration laws, child labor, and freedom. I think that problems with freedom will occur in the story because I think Janie is black and there might be racism and slavery during the time period in the book.…

Revelation” and “Everything that rises must converge” were written by the same person but, this doesn't mean they have the exact same plots. Both, of these writings are unique in their own way, they also have many differences and similarities. To begin with, the differences between “Revelation” and “Everything that rises must converge” is big since one of the readings is taking place in a bus and the other is taking place in the waiting room of a clinic. In “Revelation” the main character is Julian, Julian is a kid who just graduated college thanks to his mom since she wanted the best for him. Even-though, she wanted the best for him because she loved him Julian still hated her, he just wanted to do things in the way his mother didn't like.…

Introduction into this book and videos covers how we need to set long term goals, but before doing so we need to ask ourselves some questions. Before we can set those goals we should seek to know Christ. This can be done by reading the four gospels and seeing what Jesus did, what we can learn from him, and how does it relate to us? Jesus’ last commandment was to go and make disciples, and while principles never change, our methods have to change in order to reach the current generation, and each beyond. As we get into the chapters we learn that men are God’s method and while they may seem unlearned or ignorant by man’s standards, God uses those willing to learn and raises them into leadership.…
