The passion of Christ was biblically accurate for the most part. Some scenes were created to draw the attention of the audience. There was although some similarities between the movie and the bible. And some that were not even in the bible at all. The movie focuses more on the torture, violence and death of Jesus. There is only a brief scene that shows the resurrection of Christ.
In the beginning of the movie, it begins in the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus is praying. It showed a snake that was crawling around him. Jesus stamps the snake to death. The movie was trying to show that he was tempted while praying. The bible however does not suggest that he was experiencing temptation during the prayer of garden. The disciples however were

Everyone eventually panics running off. Peter cuts an soldiers ear in attempt to protect Jesus. The soldier is panicking and Jesus walks by and puts the ear put on and the solider is in utter stock. This is accurate to the bible because the bible does mention that Simone Peter had cut off the solider right ear off and Jesus did put it back on. They should have also included the resurrection of Jesus. It was not enjoyable to watch the torture of Jesus for two hours. However, it did show me that he did suffer a lot for our sins. The assignment to watch the movie and to compare and contrast from the movie and bible had made me read the bible more carefully and see what was the truth. I had learned a lot from this assignment. I have noticed that there are a lot of misconceptions about the bible. People often just believe what the movie or what others says. It is important to listen but also to check if they are right in what they are
