It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder. Just listening to the lyrics " He is Jealous for me" and " Oh how he loves

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

7eventh Time Down sings the song, God is on the Move. The words of the refrain, “God is on the move, on the move, Hallelujah. God is on the move, in many mighty ways” accurately reflects my life. God is definitely on the move and has been preparing me for this journey in the MOL program. Thinking about events in my life that contributed to my growth as a leader, several events come to mind.…

I find myself fascinated listening to this man. I sit here amongst a crowd of hundreds of men, women, and children. We are all amazed at the knowledge that he speaks. The man changes his tone and compares himself the bread that fell from heaven and the water that came from the rock. The rabbi next to me is angrily talking to me as if I did something wrong.…

Many people don’t know what they want to be when they “grow up”, as for my mother she didn’t know what type of religion she wanted to be in when she “grew up”. However, she did know the basics that she believed in which was God, the Holy Spirit, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Bible that being said she considered herself Christian and raised me as a Non-Denominational Christian. That was until my senior year of High School when my mom decided she no longer wanted to be part of the Non-Denominational Christian faith and switched over to becoming part of the LDS faith known as the Mormons and flipped my life upside-down with their different views of norms and values. Growing up Non-Denominational Christian is fairly simple faith and to me…

Although I was raised in a Christian home, I don’t believe I thoroughly understood the faith until junior high when I accepted Christ as my savior. As we were worshiping, my youth pastor went up on stage and encouraged us that if we wanted to, we could pray alongside him and accept Jesus Christ as our lord and savior. I felt his presence immensely that night, and Since then I’ve been striving to grow increasingly closer and improve my understanding of him. As Christians I believe that we’re incapable of staying still in our faith. We’re either growing intentionally nearer or through indifference moving further away from God.…

I have heard your pleas and am pleased to hear about your pursuit of religion. While I would be gladly willing to give you that opportunity, I cannot. I have heard from some of your fellow voyagers of your tyranny actions while exploring throughout these newly found lands. I am happy to hear of your success in finding lands, but I am not glad to hear about the way you have treated their people. The goal was to discover new places, not to ruin them.…

My worldview closely resembles the Biblical Worldview described in the Charry text, but by no means is anywhere near where it could be. My Christian character will continue to develop and mature throughout my life as I continue to study the scriptures, commune with God in prayer, continually ask for repentance, and forgiving those who have showed transgressions toward me. L. Gregory Jones states, “Christian living requires a willingness to inquire after the God of Jesus Christ, an inquiry which shapes us a people of repentance and forgiveness” (Charry, 2000, p. 204). Repentance and forgiveness are two aspects of the Christian walk that I struggle with. There are many times that I get so busy with life that I forget to prayerfully repent…

The Unitarian Universal Church that I went to was in Lexington. The building was the classic old white church with a steeple. In front of the building was a park, to the right side was the graveyard associated with the church, and in the back was parking. The church was along a semi-busy road. The building from the outside looked like a classic church with white wood with a steeple.…

We sat in the viewing room funeral parlor, my little cousin Georgie and I. Staring, waiting, watching the old man laid out before us. He hadn’t always been that still. He used to be so full of life, so energetic, so animated, so boisterous. The funeral director greeted us solemnly with a kiss to the cheek. The kiss stung as Judas’ must have upon Jesus’ cheek.…

So, the men stay and their praise surmounts into this beautiful testimony: Acts 16:30-34 (ESV), “Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. Even at 5 years old, I was aware of my decision to follow Jesus and accept him into my heart.…
