Speech On The Big Bang Theory

Thanks BA77 for your comments. Sorry for being slow to build a reply.

You have based your reply on consensus science, I will base my reply on Judaeo-Christian scripture alone. I suggest you infer, in an oblique way, the big bang theory is superior to the Word embedded in a divine law at Sinai,

You said, # 149:

“in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time” (Titus 1:2).

“What is truth?” as Pontius Pilate asked, facing Jesus, divine truth (Jn 18:38).

Jesus said of the Father, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” (Jn 17:17). Jesus said “I am” (Jn 8:58), “the truth” (Jn 14:4). Hence the same God who at Sinai give the Ten commandments, stated He created in six days.

However, # 161, you side-stepped # 147 my point to you. Either the big bang theory is true, or, “His Word on the Creation is codswallop and gobbledegook (sic); worse, He asked us to remember the same every seven days.” That is, a divine law is seriously flawed.

We do well to digest the following:

“The LORD said to Moses: ‘You yourself are to speak to the Israelites: ‘You shall keep my sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, given in order that you may know that I, the LORD, sanctify you. You shall keep the sabbath, because it is holy for you; everyone

Week One Devotional Psa 111:2 (KJV), "The works of the LORD, are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein." Our devotional begins with whom all things begin and that is God. Not only is God creator of all things, visible and invisible, but He is the one who holds everything together. He holds all things together as He has placed them, and they function as He has purposed them to do so. The moon, the sun, the stars, the universe, the entire solar system including the earth are all held together and consist by Him and for Him (Col 1:17 KJV).…

There is one prevailing question each of us ask ourselves consistently, “Does God exist?” Even though people’s responses are different, nearly all responses are contingent upon one’s beliefs, experiences, and influences. Despite the lack of knowledge, God is known to be an all-loving, all-powerful, and creator of all things in most communities, but those qualities are often questioned by scientists and philosophers. The existence of God was significantly debated among philosophers during the 18th and 19th centuries, however, each esteemed philosopher had a distinct argument explaining their rationale, while criticizing another’s. In this paper, I will analyze William Paley’s, teleological argument, which is the argument for the existence of…

    The Cosmological Argument

In the middle of the 17th century, thinkers in the enlightenment began to question how belief in the existence of a monotheistic God could be rationally supported. A number of arguments for and against the existence of God emerged at this time, and while the philosophical debate on the existence of God is still in session, the initial dust has settled. At this point in time, it is abundantly clear that a the cosmological argument is untenable at both a metaphysical and empirical level, and that the various versions of the cosmological argument fail to support the existence of God. There is good reason for critically examining the cosmological argument. Theists have made a claim that God exists.…

Heschel’s fixation on the concept of time in relation to the Sabbath can be better explained through understanding what God, according to the Bible, specifically did after having created the world. Not one of God’s other creations, Adam, the world itself, or light were given the same level of recognition as the seventh day received; for it was the seventh day that was deemed sanctified at the end of creation. As previously mentioned, another belief that Heschel holds surrounding the Sabbath is that the holy day serves as a reminder to Jews of what the Messianic world is to be. And if a Jew cannot sanctify the Sabbath, Heschel notes, then that person “will be unable to enjoy the taste of eternity in the world to come” (Heschel, p. 74). Thus…
