Special needs children are misunderstood. They can be really nice children that some people may think are weird. They can also be really smart or they could be considered challenged. People can get jealous because special needs children take other people’s attention away from them. Special needs children need to be better understood so that they can receive the same education as other kids and avoid being bullied so they can experience the socialization that schools provide.

They need to be calm and get as much information as possible to develop a plan for solving the problem. They also need to talk to the child. They need to get personal information from the child such as “the people involved, what happened, if there was adult supervision and if so, who it was and what they did”. The school should also be involved with the situation. Parents should also check the school’s code of conduct which will help them understand what happened and help figure out how things need to be corrected so it does not happen again.
