The four situational leadership styles are directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating. Based on Hersey approach, directing would be a high task force and low relationship focus (S1). This is where leaders define roles for his or her followers and supervise them. There is a one-way communication when making decisions. An example of a job with a directing style would be a T.V. director. Furthermore, there is coaching which is a high task focus and high relationship focus (S2). This is where followers need support and communication is a two-way street. An example of a job with a coaching style would be a mentor.
