I would have to say PETA is a neutral interest group. The group is highly concerned with factory farming, fur farming, animal testing, and animals in entertainment. In an article written by PETA, a Florida State University student was charged with killing two people and chewing the flesh of one of them. PETA reacted quickly and asked the Sheriff of the county the offender to serve him vegan meals. The PETA executive VP stated that this would give the offender a “humane and cost-effective” which might help him with his problem. In another article PETA and the Anonymous for Animal Rights(Israel) write about a Slaughterhouse in South America. The way they slaughter animals were viewed as inhumane and the cruelest of them all. The way is call the “shackle and hoist” which is when the push the cow in a rectangular box while locking their legs to the ground. Then the floor disappears causing the cow to fall while being hanged to the opposite side. Once the cow is hanged the worker slit its throat which then cause the cow to bled out. These two articles are perfect examples of media bias. The reason so is because PETA choose to write about the negative properties of eating meat like cannibalism and slaughtering of animals.
