PETA states, “Like smoking, eating meat increases the risk of heart disease and cancer,” and although this may be true, PETA still does not have any evidential support on how correct this statement is. They use loaded words and transfer to scare people. Smoking and meat are not as closely related as PETA makes it sound. Also, the picture is actually of a little boy sitting and smoking. There are so many problems with this because it is promoting the wrong idea to young people. There is a kid sitting in the backseat of their parent’s car staring at the passing by billboards and they see a kid just like them smoking. They cannot read the billboard fast enough, but the kid could be thinking “I want to be like that kid!” This is not the mindset we want children to think in and it is not actually what PETA was trying to demonstrate. The white background also draws the eyes more to the boy than to the words. Everything is colorless except the boy. Seeing the little boy smoking can scare the parents and that is what PETA was striving
