Years went by where I never questioned my food thinking it was normal to eat meat, everyone told me it was what our bodies needed. We needed to eat meat and chicken it is our protein. We needed milk it is where we get our calcium. Commercials played on TV and I saw the delicious food being advertised and I would think to myself I want to try that it looks so good. At school, they served us meat, eggs, milk that was providing us a healthy nutritious meal. Everything around me told me I needed to eat animal products not telling me the true harm it was doing to the actual animals’ I was consuming.
Then there came the day I heard about PETA and I clicked and read what they stood for. They were fighting against ANIMAL CRUELTY. At the time, I didn’t understand what they meant how can we be cruel to an ANIMAL they aren’t HUMAN they are our food they are what we consume to be healthy. They are a hamburger,

The first thing that caught my attention was that being vegan wasn’t a diet it wasn’t all about the food you ate it was about having NO ANIMAL products in your life. Standing against the maltreatment of all animals. No meat, no eggs, no milk products, to be cautious of products being TESTED on ANIMALS products that contained animal products. I still did not understand what it meant about the maltreatment of the animals’ leather is normal, wool is normal, we need to test things so that humans don’t get sick, we need to eat meat and have milk what did they mean. I finally looked it up on YouTube. PETA animal abuse. Just by seeing those images I was already scared to click further into the videos, I already started to question what I knew about where my food came from.
