On the other side people say it's right because it is part of their culture. Despite what some may say, culture is a justifiable reason to restrict rights from people because it’s what they believe and Male dominant culture has been around for a long time in some countries.
Culture is a justifiable reason to restrict the rights of people because it’s what they believe. For example, the leaders of a country, who are sometimes men, might have beliefs that women should be banned from. According to the article, “Title:Swaziland: Women are banned from wearing pants.” Women can’t wear pants because their kings doesn’t allow them. It says “Wearing pants is considered a disrespect of local traditions. Just recently, a chief banned a woman from participating in an election nomination because she wore trousers. Swaziland is Africa’s last absolute monarch, and though its king, Mswati III, believes a chief should be respected, he has yet to condemn the outlawing of pants.” (Dobreva,2015)This demonstrates how women can’t wear pants because it is a local tradition. A chief/king didn’t allow a woman to participate in a nomination because she was wearing trousers which they are like pants. If a woman wears pants it is disrespecting the king.
