Malala Yousafzai, an advocate for women’s rights, learned to fight for what is right when she defied the Taliban and demanded that women receive an education. On October 9, 2012, “a gunman shot Malala when she was traveling home from school. She survived, and has continued to speak out on the importance of education.” (Source B). Many women lived their lives in fear as a result of the mental, physical, and emotional damage caused by the Taliban, however Malala was much stronger than that. Most people don’t have the mental strength that Malala had when she decided to keep fighting for women’s rights after going through such a traumatic experience. She was able to fight the bullet wound and the emotional wound in order to do what is right when in the encountered by life’s injustices. Now Malala is a global phenomenon and has taught others to fight for what they believe in and her story still inspires millions of others. The song “The Right Thing” by Mandisa also gives a glimpse into what it is like to deal with hard choices through their strong and poetic lyrics. One of the most powerful lines from this song would have to be "Nobody said it was going to be easy but, I know I'll never be alone 'cause when all hope is gone help will come, come from above, and give me the strength to go farther to climb higher courage that burns inside
