A big question that has been going around worldwide for years is whether or not abortion should be allowed in society. There are people who believe abortion should be allowed and that it should be up to the mother because it is her body; on the other hand, there are people who wholeheartedly believe abortion should not be allowed because a baby 's life should count too. We hear a lot about abortion here in the United States of America, but it is not only going on here, abortion occurs in just about every country on earth. Abortions have been around for a very long time, but it is now becoming a hot topic here in the United States of America mostly because of the media. Abortions have been going on here in the USA since our country started, but it was a topic people never really talked about. I respect other people 's opinion, but to me abortion is not the answer. I believe wholeheartedly that abortions should be illegal with the exception of rape and life threatening complications for the mother and child. The Roe v. Wade law should be appealed because we are in the 21 century and there are many alternatives to prevent pregnancies now. We have birth control, adoption, the morning after pill, condoms, tubal ligation, vasectomy, sterilization, abstinence etc. I do not see a reason for women to be in that situation, unless they were raped. Women need to quit feeling sorry for themselves and making themselves out to be the victims. If they are willing to have sex, then they need to be willing to step up and be a mother. They need to take responsibility for their actions and quit looking for the easy way out. We also need to stop encouraging young girls to be open to having sex and start teaching them to wait till they are old enough, responsible enough, and willing to take care of a child if they do get
