Breastfeeding Vs Infant Formula

Decent Essays
My topic is going to be breast milk and why it is better than infant formula. I chose this topic to research the differences in breast milk and infant formula and to gain knowledge about the benefits of breast milk. I have seven children in which the last four have been breastfed and I am currently breastfeeding my youngest child. I have read articles about the importance of breastfeeding but ironically, I have never researched the benefits of breast milk. I am trying to decide whether to start weaning him now or to continue nursing until he turns two; so hopefully, this research will help with my decision. Also, I mentor a lot of pregnant service members and I would like to give them more informed information other than my personal experiences.

Article B In the article “Breast milk and subsequent intelligence quotient in children born preterm” A. Lucas and R. Morley (1992) conducted a thorough experiment on the effects of mothers’ breast milk on premature newborns. The researchers are not new to this line of work, they conducted another experiment before this one showing a correlation between preterm infants who drank breast milk and better development. In the article I read, the researchers did an exceptional job on perfecting their experiment. They had both dependent and independent variables, and an experimental group and a control group.…

A research paper was given as assignment in my English class. This research activity weights a good percentage of the final grade. Although I have done research papers for previous classes, this project has become special for me because I’m trying to demonstrate to myself how well prepared I am, and also it’s the opportunity to show the abilities attained in previous courses during my time in BCC. Certainly I have to admit that due to all information that I have to compile, this research activity has become like a nightmare for me, but I will put all my effort to contradictorilymake of this paper one of the best papers I ever made. I chose the topic “Have Government actions made New York City safer after 9/11?…

I would like to summarize the entire in-class lecture you had on October 4, 2016, that was based on discussing the differences between breastfeeding and the formula. I also wanted to go over briefly about the discussion we had about understanding that any punishment from the parent will not change a child’s behavior. To begin with, there are a few things you should consider before you jump and decide to go right ahead and feed your baby using formula. First, let’s begin with the facts about breastfeeding.…

YOUR INFANT’S NOURISHMENT One of the most challenging and personal decisions about becoming a first time mother is deciding the right nourishment for your baby. Many mothers decide whether they plan to breastfeed or formula feed their infant before labor, but often change their mind after delivery. While it’s hard to say which is better, I believe the American Academy of Pediatrics justified breastfeeding as the best: The American Academy of Pediatrics believes that breastfeeding is the optimal source of nutrition through the first year of life.…

The holocaust not only affected Jewish people, it also targeted homosexual, women and children. A topic I found interesting about the holocaust was the idea of hidden children. The topic that I selected is increasing the evidence based practice use. Evidence based practice (EBP) is one of the popular topics in nursing today. It is defined as a “problem-solving approach to clinical decision making within a healthcare organization that integrates the best available scientific evidence with the best available experiential evidence” (Hain & Kear, 2015, p. 2). Applying evidence based practice into our daily nursing practice can improve the quality of care of the patients.…
