The Mother-Baby Package (MBP) consists of interventions at different levels that are needed before and during pregnancy, during delivery, and after delivery for the mother and the child. Most of these interventions are delivered through the community-based facilities, such as traditional birth attendants, health care providers, and health doctors. According to the Mother-Baby Package: Implementing safe motherhood in countries article, an increase in the availability and accessibility of family planning information and services will greatly reduce unwanted pregnancies leading to the reduction of maternal deaths (CITE). This package is meant to links families and communities with health centers and hospitals in a very cost-effective manner. For instance, mothers and children are taken care of through the appropriate technology, best equipment, and safe affordable care. Due to pregnancy complications leading to deaths, goals and objectives, family planning, basic maternity care, and prevention are assessed through a national plan of action, financial support, and the implementation of planned activities.
