Anne Lamott Shitty First Drafts

Sometimes you are assigned to read articles for homework and they actually turn out to be helpful for you. Thats exactly what happened to me when I was assigned to read “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott, which caught my attention from its title. I wondered why is it called “shitty.” Anne Lamott explained how important it is to write shitty drafts before your writing becomes better. I thought to myself, I usually get B’s and C’s on my essays and Lamott says to become a good writer you must write shitty drafts first then why don 't I do that?
“Shitty First Drafts" by Anne Lamott states everybody should write shitty first drafts to make their writing better, but many people tend to think successful writers only write their writing once. Anne Lamott says people don 't understand that all great writers write many shitty drafts before they have their final draft. Most people write a free write to start off their paper; just to get their mind going but that doesn 't work for me. I have to visualize things to get my mind going, this method works more than people think it does. I like to draw a Chart, Outline, or even a diagram about my topic for me to write anything first. I just can 't start writing, its more of mental issue. I like to have things in order for me to start. I like to create charts and outlines about the topic and then turn them into sentences that I will put in my essay. This method works for me because when I do the diagrams or chart I already put things in order from the start and all I have to do after is put it in a sentence. What I do is little similar to what Anne Lamott described in her article but she seems to have better results than my
