Rhetorical Analysis Of My Essay

I remember the first time I wrote an essay that was being graded at the college level. This was in my junior year when I took AP Language and Composition, our first essay was a rhetorical analysis essay from a very old excerpt that used old english and was very hard to read. When I first started reading the passage I started to get nervous because I didn't understand what the text was saying but then I started to annotate and the passage began to make sense. I found many rhetorical strategies that the author used and I then began to outline the essay in my head. After I was done reading and annotating I began to write my essay, I felt confident in my essay and I thought I would score at least a 4 out of the 9 points that could be achieved. A week later when the class got their essays back I was devastated to see that I only score a 1 on my essay. I was shocked and did not know what I had did wrong because I thought I did all that was asked from the prompt. While flipping through the pages of my essay I realized that there was no feedback written on any of the pages and the students sitting next to me saw that they had no feedback either. After the class saw that no one had feedback on their essays they all were very confused because we have always been given feedback before in all our others classes. When the class finally settled down, the teacher told the class that she does not give feedback because she wants us to figure it out on our own. Of course the class was not happy about that and neither was I. After class I asked the teacher how I am supposed to get better at writing if I do not know what I am doing wrong and she said this is something that you have to figure out on your own because that is what you have to do in college. At this point I was very angry and I wanted to drop the class but after thinking about it I decided that i was going to fight through it and work
