Sex Education Is The Best Idea A Government Funded School Essay

Sex Education today is one of the most overlooked atrocities in the nation. Kids in many areas of the country are taught religious rules in public schools. To some, this seems like a positive aspect, that learning how to treat ourselves based on the majority religion in the country is the best idea a government-funded school can have. However, that’s not accurate. Although, yes, most Americans identify as Christians, most does not equal all. And even if all Americans did announce themselves as members of the church, that does not imply that the separation between church and state could topple, and we could all live in “religious harmony”. That idea is preposterous and against everything the nation was built for. Parents like to entertain the thought that their kids are perfect. They tend to imagine that the children don’t need the necessary education about sex that can help them literally stay alive, because “How are my children going to be diagnosed with AIDS if they aren’t having sex?” Newsflash: kids have sex. Kids have always had sex. Nothing we can, or ever do will change the fact that minors have been having sex for as long as they’ve been around, and will continue to do so. I’m not saying that all kids are demonic pagans who worship sex like it’s their creator, I’m saying that for 77% of unmarried 20 year-olds, sex isn’t out of the ordinary (Brown, Washington Post).
