Selena Quintanilla was star eyed even from childhood. She had always been playful, happy, and most importantly, a great singer. Though she got better over time of course. Selena’s dream was not originally to be a musician, but her father had imposed the idea on her at a young age by making her and her siblings play music together. Her sister and brother weren’t as enthusiastic about the idea as she was, but over time they came to love the idea of practicing and rehearsing together. In the beginning, before she really formed her dream of becoming a great musician with her family, she was made by her father to play music she didn’t like. He of course liked it, but after much complaining by her and her siblings they convinced him to let them play music they liked. This, as I believe is the true beginning …show more content…
Nobody thought that Selena Quintanilla could take the stage as the most popular Mexican American musician at the time, nonetheless that she could produce both english and spanish music and be as successful as she was. Against all odds she accomplished all of those things and more. She won awards, prizes, and the love of the people she sang for. Who could ask for more? Nobody could, not even Selena herself, she was content with all she had and was filled with happiness at the successfulness of her life. Thousands among thousands, if not millions, strive for that state of mind. Even more strive for such success in life, though many Mexican Americans didn’t really believe it was possible before Selena. Selena’s dream helped Mexican Americans everywhere believe that it was possible to be successful as a Mexican American. But more importantly, that they could be anything they wanted to be. So, Selena’s legacy is carried on, with the careers of other Mexican Americans. With each and every success inspired by her she lives on through
