The novel did not offer a summary so I only looked at the cover of the book and predicted what would happen. After reading the first few pages, I knew that the book was about Gabi Hernandez, the protagonist, and her high school life. This book is made up of all her diary entries. In her diary, she talks about her two best friends: Sebastian, who’s gay and Cindy, who gets pregnant. She eventually also vents about her dad, whos a meth addict, her mom, who struggles to keep this family from falling apart and herself, who eats too much unhealthy food. As for the author; Isabel Quintero, it is the first time that I have read one of her works. I think that Isabel Quintero wrote a book about Gabi and made Gabi very similar to herself. They both have
