Well their plan was actually working until the duo saw them and they started shooting. So Snugg and Seabass started spraying them with lead. Sea slugs and aquatic plants have similar core features that allow both of them to acquire energy from light, but the sea slugs mechanism is far more involved and revolved around evolution. Elysia chlorotica, or the sea slug, have acquired the ability to conduct photosynthesis in their adult stages of life through their consumption of Vaucheria litorea. Vaucheria litorea are algae that are the primary diet of the developed sea slugs. Juvenile slugs acquire this ability when they ingest the algae and store the chloroplasts or plastids of the organisms in their digestive tracts. These plastids are absent of nuclei and can actually be maintained in the tracts for months in the cells.…

Darwin’s theory of evolution and natural selection are concepts well known by most people. Evolution being a change in a population over time and natural selection essentially coming down to survival of the fittest and being a key mechanism of evolution. In the case of seahorses, rather the 54 species of marine fishes in the genus Hippocampus, the male and female seahorses have evolved a series of unusual adaptations for the purpose of increasing their overall fitness. A common misconception about seahorses is that the males are the ones to become pregnant, when in reality it is more of a team effort where both the male and female share the energy load. The reason why the male carries the babies is because they are known to be more aggressive.…

Japan has the largest seafood market in the world. Tokyo's Tsukiji fish market is the largest fish market in japan and is a billion-dollar industry. In the CBS News article, “A Tour of Tokyo's Largest fish market”, the author states, “[The] island nation of Japan has less than two percent of the world's population, but consumes 10 percent of the world's fish.” Japan consumes a lot of fish because logically they are an island surrounded by water. Many nations are accused of overfishing, but Japan's overfishing has caused the population of tuna (especially the Bluefin tuna) to decrease.…

Sharks are one of the top predators in the ocean. With little to no enemies, humans have been over hunting sharks for their fins and then throwing them back out into the ocean. Without their fin sharks would not be able to swim and would slowly sink to the bottom of the ocean and die, waiting for something to either eat them or drown to death. As someone who once enjoyed drinking shark fin soup after finding out what happens to the shark and the life that they have after their fins get cut off I can only feel guilty for enjoying an animal's death. There are many different species of sharks that are out there in the world that is accounted for, and maybe hundreds of sharks that have not yet been discovered yet.…
