Homework Doesn’t homework feel useless? All homework does is help teachers pass through a lesson quicker, stress you out, and ruin your schedule. Homework is just one big mistake. It’s just very extra and also a burden.
Teachers sometimes give students lots of homework which can be easier than going through a 30 minute long lesson. It’s like the teachers are getting so lazy. You decided to choose this job so do your job. I get it saves your time but, you should just give homework when you didn’t have time to go through a full lesson. Abeles writes, " daily homework of many students is as long as lawyers, teachers, medical residents. " I agree many students get a lot of homework in a day from all the classes combined. To a teacher assigning homework may think that he/she is not giving a lot of homework for the night, but combined with all the other teacher's homework kids get overworked. I can remember a time in high school when I got math homework about 20 questions. Then I went to my English class and had to read a chapter from a book and answer a few questions.…

Homework is one of the worst inventions in the world. Before going to my private school, which is a K-12 school, I went to public school in first grade. We had to write book logs every week because the teachers were concerned with us reading. It was absolute torture. I have cousins and other friends that always say “I have so much homework to do,” and I feel lucky to not experience it.…

Even though kids don’t want to have homework whatsoever kids still have to have to do it. Even then most of the kids come home to a large amount of homework that then puts stress on them, and if kids start to complain at a young age, well all that will happen is that they will get more and more homework and homework won’t go away until these kids decide to end school either after high school or collage. It also doesn't seem like they will change the excessive amounts of homework that has been given to kids from the past years.…

I judge that we can all agree that homework is fairly boring and is not interesting. Students do not want to learn or work on something that doesn’t interest them. Also, they may not understand the concept of the topic, so they find it difficult and confusing. Some students lack time management and may have their priorities mixed up. Both of these flaws can interfere with the organization to do homework.…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…

There are so many reasons people are pro homework. People say “it helps them become smarter or helps them on test,” But there is a lack of evidence where it actually supports their claims, that it helps students at all especially at such a young age. with Alfie Khon “The positive effects of homework are largely mythical.”(Khon). It also seems that homework is being forced onto younger students more often than the older ones. I remember getting tons of homework in Elementary school, and not having the time to play outside, the stress, and my parents struggling to help me on problems I didn’t know.…

Not a day goes by when I don’t hear my classmates, including myself, complain about the amount of homework that we receive. In response to the protests my teachers will often say that we’re supposed to spend two hours on homework for every hour spent in class, so we shouldn’t be surprised. If we were to follow that line of reasoning, we would end up spending twelve hours on homework a day, which is completely unrealistic; even spending half of that on homework is insane for one day. Although teachers are correct in saying that homework is a great learning tool, it only overwhelms students when assigned in excess--making it difficult to complete. Time is a subject constantly on everyone’s mind, especially for students with due dates for assignments, information to know by the test day, finals, applications to colleges, etc.…

Research suggests that parent involvement in their children’s education plays a significant role in student achievement. Although parents can become involved in children’s education many different ways, according to Catasambis (1998), parents who regularly and actively help and monitor children’s homework have the greatest impact on their children’s academic achievement. Homework gives an extra practice of what students learn in the classroom, but it can serve other purposes as well. It can provide opportunities for parents to know what their children are learning at school and to become active partners in education to increase student learning. Homework has several benefits and is important to a child’s success. Specifically, homework can be beneficial to a student’s academic achievements. The use of daily homework assignments can help students better obtain information which has previously been taught. A student who is introduced to an idea during class, then given an assignment, allows them to practice and grasp a better understanding of the concept. The aid provided from homework then opens up more time for further learning in the classroom.…
