Satire About Homework

Less homework please!

Ugh… homework! When I tell you to think of homework the first thing that comes to mind for many people is the negative, stressful, annoyed feeling when we realize that there are piles and piles of uncompleted homework. Wouldn’t it be great if we didn’t have that feeling, almost every single day?

In any case, there are many solutions to this like no homework at all, one homework day per week but in particular, my first idea that I will be focusing on is homework choice. Homework choice is, giving students choices and options. Giving students this freedom can make them feel less tensed and more laid-back. And as a result of being more relaxed, it can make the student’s classroom performance a lot better, and let’s be honest

Whether you go to school, or whether you’re done with school, everyone is somewhat affected by homework. But due to the fact that everyone is at least slightly affected by homework, that means that everyone is affected negatively. For instance parents, yes of course homework lets them see what their kid is doing at school, which don’t get me wrong is good. But if I'm being honest, homework disturbs family life. It prevents students from spending quality time with their family or friends. Just imagine this, some students come home and they have to get out their pile of homework and sit on their butt for a few hours, instead of getting out a game to play and actually interact with other people like their families and friends. And all this homework doesn’t just come out of nowhere, it obviously has to come from someone. And those people are teachers. Teachers are the main source of homework, they’re the ones who pile the homework in front of the students. And well, obviously they can’t be affected by homework, WRONG! Teachers are affected by homework as much as anyone else. Homework lets teachers get more of an idea of the students knowledge and responsibility. In fact, homework somewhat actually helps teachers. For instance, when students actually decide to complete their homework, teachers can look at the students homework and see what they do well in and what they need to improve on. But this can be …show more content…
Is homework necessary? Whether homework is necessary or not, that is up to you to decide. In my point of view, homework has its ups and downs. Homework improves and helps in many aspects, but it’s so stressful and even the word can make students cringe. Homework is not given to students because they dislike it. Homework doesn’t exist to annoy and stress the students. But newsflash! Homework does annoy and irritate a lot of students. So why is homework still given to students? Well obviously, because it’s necessary. But, is it really? If you stop and think about it, the truth is that homework is not necessary. Do you have trouble believing that? Well, here are a few great arguments that will definitely convince you. First off, 6 hours and a half at school obviously wasn’t enough! So here, let's give another 2 hours of work! Thank you. Us students have 6 hours and half at school, we start at 8:05am and go home at 2:35pm, that’s almost a full day of school. Most adults work similar lengths of time at work and come home exhausted. Yet they can’t understand when their kids have trouble focusing at the end of a full day of school. And that brings me to my next point. It is unreasonable to make any student spend too many hours studying or working. If an adult has trouble concentrating or focussing while doing work that’s nothing compared to a kid or

First of all, homework causes stress on students. We may as well just spend all day at school if we are having school at home anyways. Students should go to school, work on “school” work, then come home and not do “school” work at home. This would increase the productivity and attitudes of students. I, for one, would be in a much better mood concerning school if I knew that I didn’t have to look forward to coming home to more school work.…

    Homework Should Be Banned

It should neither be fully abolished or given to students in preposterous amounts. Although some say that homework is something that does no good for students, it actually has many benefits to students such as it has students receive better grades, learn what responsibility is, and figuring out how to balance homework with free time. All of these skills are not something that will help them in school, but in the rest of their lives. With that in mind, homework is not something that should be banned or fully embraced. Homework should be something that is balanced and only used as a tool to help students gain proficiency in a subject, not as busy work.…

To me, homework is many hours of my time wasted on relearning the stuff we did in class. Students come home every day with tons of books in their backpacks. Schools shouldn’t give out homework anymore. Children get less sleep and their social life deteriorates. Homework only makes a small impact on their performance.…

My Declaration of Independence I am here today to announce my frustration with the amount of homework given on any day. The problem with all of the homework is that some people have other things to do, and may not have time to complete all of the given homework. I think it’s safe to say that the amount of homework is just a bit too much, and not completing all of it seriously can bring down some grades for people. People do not deserve to have homework in every class, almost every day.…

The truth is: the question about homework is opinionated and until either side side is proven, it will continue to be that way. Alfie Kohn, author of “The Case Against Homework”, says homework harms students and intrudes on family time, making relationships fragile. He supports his claims by quoting literacy expert Henry Davis…

I judge that we can all agree that homework is fairly boring and is not interesting. Students do not want to learn or work on something that doesn’t interest them. Also, they may not understand the concept of the topic, so they find it difficult and confusing. Some students lack time management and may have their priorities mixed up. Both of these flaws can interfere with the organization to do homework.…

There are various effective arguments I would make to support students having homework by their teachers. The first argument I would make is that homework helps students to better retain the lessons they’ve learned during the school day. Students need a lot of exercises to do to retain what they learn everyday in school. Since class time isn’t enough to provide a lot of exercises on one subject, homework is the best way to exercise what’s been learned in class. If no homework is given to students on a subject that’s been discussed in class, it’s more likely for them to forget the subject the next day.…

It is a fact that homework is not helping students. According to Richard Walker, an educational psychologist at Sydney University, “kids who have more homework actually perform worse on standardized tests and suffer with mental and physical health” (Binns). The overwhelming amounts of homework lead to not being able to focus on the students themselves. How can we be creative and have lives outside of school, like we are told, when school is our only focus? To be honest, we can’t.…

Homework has been linked to achieving better results and better grades, so why are some schools banning it? Studies have shown the positive and negative effects of homework, and with a moderate amount, the positive effects outweigh the negative ones. Homework should not be banned, as it teaches discipline and time management skills, as well as supplements and accelerates learning. It is also needed in order to meet international education standards. Homework is important for numerous reasons, one of which being that it helps teach time management skills and discipline, especially in young children.…
