Self-reflective Essay While in the class this past ten weeks, I’ve learned quite a lot. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to take an English class that I had to write so much. Week after week, there were so many writing assignments. Each week we had to read an article and answer questions on that article through the discussion board on the college blackboard. After posting your answers, then you had to respond to two other classmates’ answers. Each week we also had to read an editorial article and write a two page response to the article. These papers had to be in MLA (Modern Language Association) format with three quotes from the article. I can say that the assignments each week were challenging, and on many occasions I had to

With being legally blind, I find it easier to complete the assignments and research projects from my own computer with my adaptive software. The advantages of taking some online classes, is that you are allowed to do the course at your own pace. The advantages also for me is I don’t have to find transportation from my home to the campus. I can log into the blackboard from home and do my classwork. The disadvantages of taking online classes would be that you don’t have that one-on-one contact with your professors to ask questions. With online classes, you have to write your professors email and wait for their response. The hardest and most difficult part about any class that want you to write an essay or research paper, is coming up with the required number of pages written from your professors. I never can get the full number of pages required. For the rest of the time I am here at Reynolds Community College, I think I’m going to try to take all online classes, except for the classes that require me to actually attend the class. To think back at the classes that I attended, I really don’t miss the class discussions or class interaction because with the blackboard and the class discussion boards, you can communicate with every student in the class. With blackboard, you can contact one student in your class or you can contact every student in your class at the same
