This course is only for first-year students and it helps you ease into the phase of entering college. It assists students in a wide variety of ways including informing them on the resources available on campus, educating them on time management skills, studying and test taking strategies, and so much more. I will be explaining how the GEL 101 course has influenced my college career, what subject was the most useful to me and what I wish we would have covered, and the impact of the course regarding to my future of learning.
When I first enrolled in GEL 101 I wasn’t so enthusiastic as I was when I first started attending classes the first couple of weeks. I quickly learned that the environment that I was

GEL 101 has also helped me strengthen my character and my personality. Some of the things I learned in the course that can help me in regards to lifelong learning are defining the ways that I can learn more effectively, being more social with my peers, and my favorite one is knowing the rights and wrongs of being prepared to apply for jobs and internships. I feel like I did a good job in this course, not a great job but a good job. I have some personal family issues that I have been dealing with back at home so I have to make sure I have time for both my family and school.
Although, some may believe GEL 101 isn’t a course that is important or essential, to me, I believe it is very helpful. It helps students ease into being a college student and helps them adapt into the life of college student by informing them on beneficial ways of doing things. Not only did I make new friends throughout the course in the semester but I also learned helpful techniques that will benefit me very much here at CSUSM and also in the long run with

In one of the readings it had said don’t forget to go have fun, because college is not just about all of the school work. The majority of college is about your school work, and if you understand the information that is being taught. In A Pocket Guide to College Success, it had been said a couple of times that you need to plan some time for yourself, and I agree with it. In other words, planning time for yourself can also be a little break from all of the school work that has been assigned to you over the past couple of weeks. I always thought that the people that go out and have fun are the ones that struggle with school because they never did their homework.…

To earn an associates degree from Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) one must take and pass certain classes in order to transfer to a four year institute. One of these many classes is ACA 122-College Transfer Success. It is a one credit course designed to help students who are new to the world of community college and transferring to succeed in the future. For me personally I was not so lucky. This is my last semester at GTCC so this class has been a bit of an annoyance rather than helpful, because a large section of the class is geared towards planning out one’s course schedule for their remanning semesters at GTCC.…

Another aspect of this trip that aided in me feeling more comfortable with my decision to attend WVU was being able to meet one of the Engineering teachers. Mr. Hamrick was a great resource for learning more about the freshman engineering program, and I would love to take a class that he is teaching in the future.
