Throughout, this 10 week course I have gained a better understanding of the Information Technology principals and fundamental knowledge, critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem solving skills for IT professionals, business communications, research and academic writing and how to properly use APA references. As well, I learned the value of learning in communities, discussions and peer reviews as well as working with a virtual team. By learning about IT principals and fundamental knowledge, it has improved my professional and personal interactions by gaining the knowledge of how they information technology plays a major role in our everyday lives. We may not realize it, but we use technology every day (cell phones, computers, vehicles, …show more content…
And when entering the IT professional world, we need to act like professionals. Problem solving is a big thing within the IT world as their will be times we'll have to solve issues that will be difficult, so that is where problem solving skills are a must. Business communications, are very important as most of our communicating will most likely be with businesses (small or big). By being able to properly research information, I've gained the ability to realize all there is out there in the IT world such of employment, skills, descriptions and the requirements needed for the specific area of expertise. As well, I have learned how to properly use APA referencing the correct way. By learning the value of learning communities, discussions, peer reviews and virtual teamwork activities, I feel that I've became a better individual because of it. At first, I was resist to the fact of peer reviews until I realized that someone else may have a better opinion that will help me succeed, so with that being said "peer reviews" are a wonderful tool, that is truly helpful. Discussion topics is a great tool as well, because everyone can view your topic and we all learn
