Jill, one of the main characters in the film, is irritated with Jack. He tries to cheer her up as they drive on an urban road in Australia. Jill stops to fuel up the car, and while she's filling the gas tank, Jack ventures off into the convenience store and purchases chocolates, and a bouquet in order to make Jill happy. However he bought a very odd thing, a plastic toy spider. This will be a decision that Jack will regret for rest of his life. When he returns to the car, he scatters the bouquet along the dash board. Jill later returned to the car, and she disregarded the flowers. She starts the car, and continues driving staring straight ahead. Undeterred, Jack peels the wrapping off the chocolate and puts it on the dash near her hand. She takes it, and as he keeps pulling out more; rapidly she becomes happier. There was a scene in this film that made my heart stop. It made me think about the impact of small and insignificant things can have in the big picture. This moment altered the lives of Jack and Jill. I had the same reaction whenever I saw what happened to Jack later in the film. Just because of the practical joke on Jill he ended up being hurt as well. I felt he deserved and didn’t deserve the punishment. At the same time, I felt he deserved the punishment because of what he made happen to Jill. However, he didn’t deserved what happened because he clearly told her that the spider was fake but her reaction ended up being
