Reflection Paper On Practicing Guilt Free Relaxation

After completing my health assessment, I noticed that since I began the nursing program, many unexpected things have changed. I was astonished that it only took 4 weeks for me to break habits that I have been working towards for years. Analyzing my test made me instantly thankful for this assignment, my loved ones nor myself would make my downfalls apparent, and the assessment did. Life has taught me the importance of physical health and how it is easily connected to all other facets of life. Exercise has always been an outlet for stress and an opportunity to be alone and regroup. Typically, I am strict balanced on my diet, but after beginning school and moving in with my boyfriend, my nutrition has been moved to the back burner. The idea of “self-care” that is preached in the nursing school resonated with me and empowered me to make myself a priority, on the contrary, my assessment shows the opposite. Practicing guilt-free relaxation is an area for improvement. I exercise 4 to 5 times a week, walk to work and school, and eat a colorful balanced diet. My mental state has been and will continue to be a challenge for me. My entire family is medicated for depression or anxiety, and it has been a stressor for me after school began. Anxiety and stress comes, from working 3 days a week, trying to make my boyfriend and 3 families a priority, on top of school. I prioritize well and I am not afraid to ask for help when I need it.
